Chronic Pain submission Joint Committee Health & Children

Following a detailed, in-depth submission the Joint Committee on Health and Children calling for chronic pain to be deemed a medical speciality and condition in its own right, CPI along with the other stakeholders who had worked on the submission were invited to present to the Dáil Joint Committee on Health and Children.

CPI Chairperson John Lindsay represented our members and addressed the Committee along with other key stakeholders including:

  • Dr Josh Keaveny Dean, Faculty of Pain Management 
  • Dr Laserina O’Connor President, Irish Pain Society 
  • Cathy Sexton, Irish Pain Nurses & Midwives Society
  • Dr. Brian McGuire, Clinical Psychologist & Director Centre of Pain Research NUI Galway findings and data was represented by Dr Brona Fullen, Former Chairperson IPS and lecturer in the UCD School of Public Health, Physiotherapy and Population Science
