Munching & Moving with Chronic Pain - Dublin
Living with chronic pain doesn't always inspire an active lifestyle, and for many the activities they enjoyed most before pain... seem impossible in pain.
During this CPI workshop we will :
- review of some popular nutritional approaches to managing pain
- guide to graded exercise plans and creative ways to get moving
- look at managing medication side effects.
Living with chronic pain doesn't always inspire an active lifestyle, and for many the activities they enjoyed most before pain... seem impossible in pain. However, exercise is vital to maintaining muscle integrity and overall strength with the added bonus of the boost to our mood. We will look at combining pacing with graded exercise plans and some creative ways to get our heartbeats up.
To get moving, bodies need fuel... we will also explore some popular dietary approaches to pain management such as FODMAP and Anti-inflammatory diets. Some dietary myths may also be dispelled!
Many of the medications used to manage pain also have side-effects we will also discuss where possible diet can help tackle them, such as weight management and constipation.
As usual this is an interactive workshop but no-one actually has to exercise on the day it is not an exercise class.
Time: This workshop will run from 10:30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. with comfort break & refreshments. Sitting for long periods can be difficult so feel free to get up and move around throughout.
